I realize there’s been lots of new people coming to the blog the last couple of days, so I wanted to say Welcome!
I started blogging a little over six years ago when we were family of four. The blog was titled something different then. Little did I know that my corner of the blogging world would eventually become an adoption blog 🙂
For those of you that are new, here’s a few posts that you might find interesting:
- Our adoption timeline/story
- Our financial freedom (debt-free) journey
- The book – “Adopt Without Debt: Creative Ways to Cover the Cost of Adoption”
- Our work with World Orphans
- My life in one page
I’d love it if you’d comment and say “hi” – especially if you’re here because of the Dave Ramsey show. If you have questions about adoption or paying for adoption I’ll do my best to answer them or point you in the right direction!
P.S. See that pretty pink badge over to the right that says “Circle of Moms”? My blog is in the running for Top 25 Adoption Blogs and I’d love your vote so I can continue to spread the message about adoption, financial freedom and doing adoption debt-free! It just takes 2 seconds to click the link and click on the orange “thumbs up”. You can vote daily.

I voted every day since I first found out. Even while up north, where I didn’t get good reception… I’d wander around the woods and find a spot where it would let me click the link :o)

Hi Julie! I just finished listening to you on the Dave Ramsey show! You did a great job! My husband and I are working on becoming debt free and have talked about adoption–until you were on the show today, I didn’t know being dept free and adopting were possible. Many of our friends are working through adopting multiple kids at one time and I have started learning about the process. We don’t know when we will start the process, so I was wondering what you would recommend reading for people who are just starting to explore the process of adoption. Thanks so much for your time!

Hello, Julie!
I am a college senior, soon to be married (46 days and counting), and my sister directed me to your book’s site today… which, of all 365 days of the year, is my 21st birthday! I am so excited to watch God use you and your book as you encourage others that debt does not have to be the only way to fund an adoption. My fiance and I are looking forward to adopting in the upcoming years, so we have placed your book on our Amazon.com wedding registry. We look forward to reading it, as well as following your blog and getting continued encouragement as we approach the adoption process. Many blessings today and in the weeks to come!

Hi Julie! I’m so excited to discover your blog! My husband Doug and I are praying about adoption – I would absolutely love to adopt from Ethiopia. I’ve gone on 2 trips to Ethiopia & Kenya with World Orphans – the second of which was led by your husband! Your adoption story is an incredible example of God’s grace. We love World Orphans and the ways that God is using that organization to impact children and people across the globe!
